Breaking News: Second Flight Hatchings!
| The large crop of caterpillars has produced a surprise - a second round of hatches, from this year's chrysalis crop. The count is listed in the Butterfly Blog. |
The Butterfly Project is located in the Monterey
Bay area of California, in the US. The butterfly species that we work to create an awareness of are
the ones local to our native region.
The
Butterfly Project began in the mid 90's, when we only worked to
create awareness and habitat for one species, the Pipevine Swallowtail butterfly.
Since our small beginnings, we have expanded our work to include
other local species of butterfly, including the Monarch, Anise and Western Swallowtails, and Lorquins Admiral butterflies.
